Update about the formal license
26/01/08
We hear you! We're still working on the license
agreement. It's taking a lot longer than we had hoped.
I don't want to set a deadline, but hopefully by
Tuesday it will be done. Go ahead and submit your songs
now so we can get them processed. If you can't possibly
agree to the license, like the part about giving us
your firstborn, then just ask us not to post your song.
Hey the response has been amazing and our site traffic is growing about 30% per day on average, so we're extremely excited to get this little baby going. ia.

Submission page is live
23/01/08
From today you can submit your tracks online. It's
going to take about 6 weeks to get each artist online
as we work with you and wait for you to get the
resources ready for download, and boy oh boy we're
going to have a lot real soon. I will put up
instructions for preparing your OST download package
today. Freedom is awesome! And do you like that iPod
nano we have on the front page now. Isn't that so cool!
When you submit your song, it will be in the iPod!
Amazing! ia.
Welcome to our news section
22/01/08
Welcome to our new news section. OST was conceived just
before Christmas '07, and yet already it's gaining very
widespread attention. In fact, the demand for
information from us is overwhelming, so please use the
FAQ page and this news page before contacting us, but
do contact us if you have any remaining question. My
name is Israel Anderson, and I'll be adding to this
news page as often as possible. Our most common request
is to see the actual license. It's coming. Creating a
license is not an easy task. It's important to realize
that when Marc and I came up with this idea, we didn't
think of it as a way to make money, and there is no
corporate backing of OST whatsoever. This is an
entirely grassroots initiative. For now, let me give
you a run down in plain english of what the license
should detail.
An OST track is not public domain, but close.
An OST track may be used for any non-commercial purpose, live performance excepted, without permission from the artist.
An OST track may not be used on television, cinematic production, or included on any commercial CD or other digital media, without permission fro the artist.
An OST tracks meet a basic requirement of having certain components of the song made available. The individual pre-mixed instrument tracks. The original score/music/tabulations. The lyrics.
To summarize, OST tracks are released by all freedom-loving musicians to be used by freedom-loving musicians but with enough protections to ensure others are not merely going to use your OST track for commercial purposes so they can avoid legitimate paying the artist for their work which they are profiting off of.
If you wish to have some input into OST before the license is finalized, please contact us. We expect the actual license to be complete and published by end of March.
Don't let that stop you though. We already have numerous artists that have OST tracks on the way.
